What is Aromatherapy?

In addition, aromatherapy is used to improve physical health through their medical natural benefits. Use of Essential Oils in the WSQ Provide Aromatherapy Course

We love flowers because of their natural beauty. However, we also love flowers for their fresh fragrance.

We love incandescent sticks to pray because it also calms down our senses. In an aromatherapy massage therapy session, the nice aroma relaxes the mind and provides a calm environment for the massage.

Aromatherapy uses different types of oils, each having a unique fragrance. For example, some essential oils have the aroma of lemons, whereas other essential oils have the fragrance of flowers.

Smells greatly affects our minds (think of when a rubbish truck passes you by the street). Beautiful fragrances are known to trigger our senses and evoke powerful reactions and memorise within us. They most importantly heal our health and emotional states.

For instance, aromatherapy is a huge help for a person overwhelmed with work. If a person is feeling dull and exhaused due to his regular and hectic office schedule, going to a spa for an aromatherapy massage session will help to calm his mental state. His mood will set in and he can focus well on many things the other day.

Your emotions are directly proportional to fragrance. If someone is made to smell uncooked eggs, it will give him a rotten feeling as the smell is so strong that it doesn’t easily goes off his mind. However, if a person is made to smell a single red rose, he will feel being in heaven.

There are receptors in our mind that are associated with the limbic system that controls our emotions. Aromatherapy does the same thing. When a person goes to an aromatherapy massage session, certain combination of essential oils in some specific ratios are applied on his head and body. When massaged with it, the blood circulation becomes active. More importantly, his senses are controlled. It will soothe his occupied mind. Unneccessary thoughts that create chaos in our minds will be stopped and calmed. The client will forget about his or her problems and have a moment to enjoy the massage.

When we teach our students aromatherapy, our experienced aromatherapy trainers layout the pros and cons of every essential oil. You will learn the right quantity to use, how to mix essential oils in the diffuser, how to directly apply the essential oil, what hand circular movements to use, and what special areas are to focus on. The students undergo practical training and hands on exposure to every aspect covered in our academy. Aromatherapy essential oils are prepared by distilling specific herbs, plants and their root.

Does Aromatherapy Have Medical Benefits?

Yes it does! Dermatology disorders and skin problems can also be helped through aromatherapy massage. Tea tree oil acts as a natural disinfectant also present in some soap.

This is due to its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Eucalyptus oil relieves from muscle aches and sprains in the body. On the other hand, lavender rejuvenates your mind. This gives a fresh feeling for longer hours.

At Protherapist Academy, our goal is to help you build a good foundation and understanding of aromatherapy. Call us for more information about our WSQ Provide aromatherapy courses!
